Soniqs & Harrisburg University Collaborate on Esports Invitational
Every fall, some of America's biggest collegiate esports programs travel to Harrisburg University to compete in the HUE Invitational Presented by Intel. This year was no different, with 28 collegiate teams competing across Rocket League, League of Legends, and VALORANT participating in HUE Invitational with institutions like Pennsylvania State University, Michigan State University, and University of Mississippi, among others, in attendance.
To run the event, Harrisburg University partners with Soniqs each year to provide event planning, consultation, and full content coverage of the tournament. Before the tournament began, Soniqs oversaw event planning logistics and helped coordinate the equipment needed to host the event. This included involving Soniqs’ own partners in the HUE Invitational Presented by Intel.
This year, Intel Gaming provided Intel© NUC 11 Beast Canyon PCs to power the event. These PCs were desirable for their small footprint and high computing power, enabling tournament staff to easily fit these computers on top of desks without sacrificing performance. During the tournament, ViewSonic gaming monitors were also used to provide low-latency, high-framerate displays to competitors.
“If we’re only worried about esports at the professional level we’re missing something,” said Darren Moore, Soniqs CEO. “We need to be growing this industry at all levels of competition and by working with Harrisburg University, we’re able to do that.”
During the tournament, Soniqs’ content team went on-site to provide photography and videography services along with full social media coverage of the event. These services gave Harrisburg University assets used for marketing material, sponsorship activations, and community outreach.
Soniqs is committed to growing esports through education. Working with Harrisburg University to host the HUE Invitational Presented by Intel every year is one way Soniqs can foster the future of esports.
